In Memoriam

Humberto Nagera, MD
1927-2016

Sadly, I have to announce that Humberto Nagera M.D., world renowned psychoanalyst/psychiatrist, died peacefully on November 7, 2016 in Tampa, Florida, following complications relating to congestive heart failure. He was 89 years old and still working as the Director of The Carter-Jenkins Center.

Being an exemplary clinician, teacher, supervisor, scholar and organizational leader, Dr. Nagera influenced careers and touched the lives of many who had the honor of working with or knowing him.

His surviving children, Lisette Nagera and Humberto Phillip Nagera, request that in lieu of flowers anyone wishing to express condolences make a donation to The Carter-Jenkins Center or a charity of their choice in Dr. Nagera’s name. No formal services will be held. Sympathy cards should be addressed to The Carter-Jenkins Center. Those who would like to share condolences, memories or comments may do so at the Carter-Jenkins Center Blogsite or via email to info@thecjc.org. The replies may be shared on the "In Memoriam” web page being created at The Carter-Jenkins Center.

Sincerely,

Frances Marton, LCSW
